"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss

Thank you to the parents who (despite the snow day) still celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by reading with your child! Remember, reading daily does not just help with reading and writing skills at school, but is also quality time spent with one another.

MAP tests for winter are mostly completed. Results will be sent as soon as students who need to make up a section are complete. Preliminary results show growth in most students, with some higher than anticipated growth in reading. Great job students and parents! Let's keep it up!

Reading/Language Arts: We continue to practice reading and writing through our sight words, decodeable books, and journals. Be sure to practice reading sight words and blending daily!
Mathematics: We are learning about measurement and comparing measurements. Which one is smaller? Which one is bigger? Which one is taller? Which one is shorter? We are also learning to sort and compare items.
Science: We are learning about plants and animals and where they live and grow. We will also be learning about the Earth and Sky.
Social Studies: Transportation by land, air, and water. How do people get to places?
