  3rd grade news

The third grade students have been busy learning to code for comprehension questions during Language Arts. We have been reading a series of Colonial texts in order to be prepared to write an explanatory paper at the beginning of next week.

Our math unit has been focusing on geometry. We have been working with lines, triangles, and quadrilaterals. You can visit pearsonsuccessnet.com and look at topic 11 for extra practice.

We are wrapping up our Social Studies unit on Citizenship. The students loved creating their Life-Sized Heroes. We will be testing on the unit at the end of the week. The online text can be found at myworldsocialstudies.com. Lastly, in science we are continuing our unit on Energy. We will be focusing on changing energy forms this week.

We will continue with our PARCC EOY (End Of the Year) test on Tuesday the 28th. We will do both mathematics sections.

  Technology Class 3rd-5th Grade

Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students recently started to learn about Scratch Programming in technology class. Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is designed and maintained by the MIT Media Lab.
