  3rd Grade News

The year has gone by so fast! Thank you to all the parents who have made it a great first year at CMIT. Next week, we will continue working on our biographies about sport inventors. We will also be working on creating boats as a STEM science investigation. In math we will review topics we have learned previously during the year with a focus on time.

We will start a new unit in social studies and briefly talk about working in communities before the end of the year.

1st Annual Fun & Fit Field Day

On June 11, 2015, CMIT-ES had its first annual Fun & Fit Field Day sponsored by the PTO. With ten different stations, there were plenty of fun ways for students to get fit. From wall-climbing to a moon bounce and dance off to video games, our Tech-savvy Tigers had a full day of fun! A highlight was the dance party hosted by WPGC’s Tony Redz as each grade had a great time battling and showing their teachers the latest dance craze! Big thank you to CMIT’s PTO who planned, prepared, and participated in this school-wide event. And a huge thank you to over 30 parent volunteers who gave up their time to help at stations or to help teachers with their class. We also thank the CHESAPEAKE LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION for sponsoring T-shirts for all students, staff, and most volunteers. Because of you this day was a success! We look forward to next year!

We recognize our coordinators: Mr. Hatcher, Mrs. Wray, and Mrs. Gray. Job well done! The students and staff had a blast!
